Family of Debra Blackcrow Demands Justice as California Governor set to Release her Murderer by Rae Rose

The California Parole Board along with Governor Gavin Newson have agreed to release the murderer of an indigenous woman.  Not only are they allowing a known murderer and admitted domestic violence abuser free to harm again, they are rushing his parole through, further victimizing the family left behind, and desecrating Debra Blackcrow and Samara’s memory.  It is an act of complete disrespect to the family, and to the memory of Debra and Samara.  Allowing Rodney Patrick McNeal free is a complicit disregard to the pain and trauma “Patrick” McNeal created when he murdered the pregnant mother of four.

On October 20, 2020 the California Parole Review Unit granted Patrick McNeal Parole, despite the evidence, despite heartfelt pleas from Debra’s family and friends.  To add to the insult instead of the traditional 120 days to appeal the decision for family and friends of Debra Blackcrow, they are only giving 30 days to appeal their decision.  A rush to free a convicted murderer adds insult to injury for those left behind to mourn the loss of Debra and Samara.

This is a follow up to the article asking for community support.  We are reaching out to ask the almost completely Caucasian California Innocence Project, Parole Board, and Governor Gavin Newson to please show consideration to the Murdered and Missing Indigenous people of this land.  To show justice for a Murdered Indigenous Woman and her Murdered Indigenous child.  Debra and Samara were murdered their chance at life stolen.  It is an injustice to allow their murderer to live free after violently killing our indigenous sister, a mother of the Arapaho and Oglala Nations, in a premeditated fit of rage.

The California Innocence Project should be ashamed of their actions to free Rodney Patrick McNeal.  The California Parole Board should be Chastised for disregarding the victims and their family.  Governor Gavin Newson should be held accountable for the bias he is showing against the Indigenous of America by allowing a violent and manipulative criminal to be free to harm again.

Please write to protect Murdered Indigenous People.  Tell Governor Gavin Newson and the California Parole Board to stop being pawns to the California Innocence Project’s ego and their blatant disregard to the truth and an Indigenous woman and her daughter’s life.  Please tell them Debra and Samara were never given a choice or a chance at life, therefor Rodney Patrick McNeal should not be given a chance of parole.  He should have the same chance at freedom as he gave to Debra and Samara when he murdered them.

Re: Inmate Rodney Patrick McNeal, CDCR # P80613

“Dear Governor Gavin Newson, and California Parole Review Unit,

I am writing regarding your recent decision to not only allow Rodney Patrick McNeal parole, but to also contest your only allowing 30 days for appeal of this decision instead of the standard 120. Rodney “Patrick” McNeal is the convicted murderer of Debra Blackcrow and baby Samara Blackcrow McNeal, he is also an admitted domestic abuser, and con artist. Please reconsider your decision on facts and not be an instrument to the California Innocence Projects misrepresentation of the facts to feed their collective ego.

Rodney Patrick McNeal easily admits to stealing, domestic violence, and insurance fraud. The crime he is in jail for is a crime of rage. Debra Blackcrow having suffered under his abuse for years broke. In her rage she hit at Rodney Patrick McNeal in the only way she could hurt him, by destroying his personal possessions. She was in the process of leaving Patrick. That is why he doused Debra in cleaning fluids and tossed a jar of pennies and a laundry basket on top of Debra Blackcrow’s body. The neighbor puts his car parked in their driveway at 12:13pm based on verifiable evidence. The California Innocence Project uses hearsay from Patrick’s colleagues to say he did not arrive home until 12:29pm to take his pregnant wife to a 12:30 appointment. The CIP and Patrick McNeal’s timeline are the only things that do not add up.

Please protect the victims of Rodney Patrick McNeal’s crimes, protect Debra’s family and friends. Please take the initiative to enforce justice for Debra Blackcrow and Samara Blackcrow McNeal. Please provide justice for our Murdered Indigenous sister and her unborn child, a mother, a beloved daughter. Do not let their murderer free. Do not let Rodney Patrick McNeal free to harm again.”
