In the Spirit of Crazy Horse

On September 5th, 1877, the great Lakota warrior Tasunke Witko, Crazy Horse, was assassinated at Ft. Robinson. He is remembered as a great military strategist, helping to lead numerous victories over the United States military forces notably; the Battle of the Hundred Slain, the Battle of the Rosebud and the Battle of the Little Big Horn.

His resistance to European colonization and as a defender of Lakota homelands and way of life continue to inspire peoples from around the world to this day.

Julian Running Bear, President of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, released the following statement about Tasunke Witko.
