May 1, 2018 - Indigenous Women’s Divestment Delegation Pressures European Banks to Divest from Fossil Fuels

From April 20th – 28th, a delegation of Indigenous women have traveled throughout Europe to encourage European banks and finical institutions to divest from fossil fuels and oil pipelines that harm and threaten tribal lands.

This is the third delegation organized by the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN). Indigenous women’s delegates included those who have been on the front-lines fighting destructive oil pipelines from Standing Rock to the Tsleil Waututh Nation. The delegates spoke out about Energy Transfer Partners’ Dakota Access and Bayou Bridge Pipelines, Kinder Morgan’s TransMountain Pipeline, and Enbridge’s Line 3 Pipeline.
