Apr 29, 2017 - Native Vet Shot and Killed by Police in Mandan, ND

Mandan, ND – On April 14th, police shot and killed Ivan Wilson-Dragswolf in Mandan, ND.

The A.P. reports that the police were responding to a domestic dispute when they encountered Wilson. The police state that they shot Wilson when he moved towards them while holding a knife. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three officers are on administrative leave while the Bureau of Criminal Investigation investigates. Few other details about the shooting are released at this time.

Ivan was a resident of Mandan, North Dakota at the time of passing. Ivan attended school in New Town from kindergarten up until he graduated from New Town High School in 2010. Ivan joined the United States Marine Corps.
