Apr 1, 2017 - Wake Up The World Tour – Voices of Water

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWake Up The World Tour – Voices of Water

After a long fight for water and Indigenous treaty rights at the Oceti Sakowin camp (also known as the Oceti Oyate resistance camp north of the Standing Rock reservation in North Dakota) a group of dedicated water protectors are taking the next steps to continue their fight by hitting the road, going on tour, and sharing their frontline experiences across Turtle Island.

The Wake Up The World Tour features musical performances, workshops and speaking events by Nataanii Means, Witko, Calina Lawrence, Art Vee, Tufawon, Yaz Like Jaws, Jayohcee, and hosted by Comedian/Poet, Chad Charlie. All of whom are water protectors and freedom fighters, as well as well established hip-hop artists and performers. Collectively, they have been on the frontlines since the resistance camps were first established, until the heavily militarized forced removal of the camps took place.

If you are interested in strengthening the spirit of resistance through the talent and art of these young storytellers, please contact us to book a date of resistance. We are committed to fighting for Indigenous rights and environmental justice. We look forward to visiting your city!
