Oct 29, 2017 - Makwa Initiative – Front line Resistance Camp Against Line 3 Tar Sands Pipelin

The Makwa Initiative is a front lines resistance camp opposed to the construction of the Line 3 Tar Sands pipeline.

Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline would transport Tar Sands oil over 1000-miles from Alberta to Superior, Wisconsin with a capacity to transport up to 915,000 barrels per day. The proposed pipeline cuts directly through 1855 Treaty Territory of the Ojibwe Tribes. The proposed pipeline expansion would be Enbridge’s largest project to date.

The pipeline, along with the other Tar Sands expansion pipelines, is also opposed by the 150 First Nations and Tribes who have signed the Treaty Alliance Against Tar Sands Expansion.
